Andergrove State School is constantly striving to achieve an academically focused, caring, supportive and resource rich educational environment that will enable students to achieve to their maximum potential.

There are a number of student support services provided. These include intervention teachers and teacher-aides for students with a disability, learning support or extension needs, speech and/or behaviour support.

Justice and Equity Team

The Justice and Equity Team is managed by the Principal,  Guidance Officer, Special Education Teacher and Learning Support Teacher.  The purpose of the team is to consider personal, behavioural and academic needs of students with particular individual needs.

Behaviour management

Andergrove State School is a Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) school.  This balanced and comprehensive program is well accepted and supported by parents.  The focus is on acknowledging and rewarding the excellent behaviour of students at Andergrove State School.  Each new family enrolling students receives a copy of the school's Student Responsible Behaviour Management Policy. Please refer to the Responsible behaviour plan (PDF, 892KB) for more details.

Student Council

Our Student Council meets regularly to discuss the needs of students, and is very active in the school.   They are responsible for organising some fundraising and special events so that they can support school initiatives and a number of charities.  Student representatives from each class from Year 4 to 6 attend Student Council.

Religious Instruction

One lesson of Religious instruction is provided to classes each week when appropriately accredited adult Religious Instruction volunteers make themselves available. If not parents of our school, these Religious Instruction Volunteers must present a Working With Children Check Blue Card before commencing instruction.  Religious instruction is provided on a non-denominational basis with all students invited to participate.  Parents wishing to withdraw their children from Religious Instruction are required to provide a written request to the Principal on an annual basis.
